Smoke Radio is proud to announce that they’re partnering up with National Student Pride to bring University of Westminster students coverage of Student Pride’s 2017 event. Tickets are now available.
Smoke has been working with Student Pride since 2014 and will continue to bring our students coverage for the third year running.
The partnership aims to get more students involved ahead of London’s annual National Student Pride event, which is now in its 12th year.
Westminster’s Marylebone campus will host the daytime pride festival which takes place on Saturday, February 25, 2017.
Over 1600 LGBT students from across the UK are already expected to attend the event which lasts all weekend from Friday 24 to Sunday 26 of February.
The weekend also includes evening entertainment hosted by the infamous G-A-Y nightclubs which culminates with a party at G-A-Y Heaven in Central London.
The likes of Adele, Lady Gaga and Ellie Goulding have been massive headliners in the past and this year will be no different.
Ahead of the event, Smoke Radio’s Station Manager Callum Denning said:
“I’m really excited for Smoke Radio to join forces with National Student Pride once again! The most exciting part of being in the Pride family this year is that we can work together with other student media outlets and learn from them as they learn from us.”
This year’s Pride theme is #LetsTalkAboutSex.
Sexual education will be at the core of the event and will cover a range of topics from love and relationships to the rising problem of HIV and racism in the LGBT community.
There will also be a careers fair at the daytime event and the popular Sunday cinema event returns on February 26.
Tickets have been released today and can be bought here. The weekend wristband is priced at £5 and includes registration drinks, entry to Friday & Saturday nights at G-A-Y and a number of drink deals.
